mr-presidentmama asked: Hi! Um I was just wondering how you've become so proud of your artwork? You're one of my inspirations, and I'm really, really insecure about my art. I really have a hard time seeing what I did that's good, even if people tell me... So um I was just wondering if you've ever had to deal with feelings like this, and how you handle them. Um yeah
I think it’s perfectly normal to feel insecure about your own work, I still don’t know how to take compliments it’s pretty embarrassing!
I would say I try not to tear yourself down so hard, there’s no ‘perfect’ artwork level you have to reach, I think the important thing is to draw until you’re comfortable. I’m usually more proud of my work when I know I did my best. I also learned the more fun I was having really affects my work and in fact makes me love a piece even more when I have the right attitude and energy to it.
Another thing I’m working on it taking those compliments, it feels weird to accept them because modesty keeps sitting on my shoulders, but sometimes you just got to say to yourself, “hell yeah I can draw” and keep on going.
